Soccer!

Joel participated in his first organized sport this summer, soccer! Next year, he told me, he is planning on playing soccer and t-ball, but this year, he was only old enough for soccer. He did pretty well... he wasn't playing in the dirt or standing around, but I wouldn't necessarily say that he was all about scoring goals, either. He was definitely all about being with the herd of running kids, and loved to rough around and bump shoulders with other players. He may have played soccer a little more like football than necessarly, but overall, he had fun (always wanted to go each Wednesday night), and did pretty well for a 4 year old.

Surprise benefit of Joel's soccer... a new best buddy for Grant. Since the very first night, Grant and Logan hit it off playing soccer on their own, on the sidelines, and by the end of the season, they were all about sharing (and talking about) their cars, from the movie Cars 1 and Cars 2 with each other. They were pretty darn cute.
